Happy Birthday Zersenay Tadese

 Zersenay Tadese is the world title holder in the half marathon

SONY DSCOn February 8, 1982 was born Zersenay Tadese. He is an Eritrean long-distance track, and road running athlete and he currently holds the men’s half marathon world record.

Let’s meet him. He was the first sports Eritrean capable of winning an Olympic medal, thanks to the bronze obtained on 10000 meter dash at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. Winner of the road racing world championships in 2006 and 2007 and the half-marathon world championships in 2008 and 2009, Tadese also boasts a world title in cross-country race, he won in 2007 in the long-distance test.

In 2009 became the second athlete, after the Kenyan Paul Tergat, who won in the same year, international races on three different surfaces: track, road, country routes.

On March 21, 2010 in Lisbon, Zersenay Tadese set a new half-marathon world record in a time of 58:23, improving by more than 10 seconds the previous best performance held by Kenyan Samuel Wanjiru since 2007.
