Career

Gianni Poli was born in Lumezzane, on 5th November, 1957. He is an italian ex-athlete and won the New York marathon in 1986 and a silver medal at the 1990 European Athletics Championships.

Gianni Poli was the real great italian pride in the Marathon's world during the 80's.

He ran, in fact, the most important Marathons of the world, New York ('86), Fukoka ('81), Boston ('88), Helsinki ('83) and Chicago ('85), where he overthrew the male qualification time of 2:10:00.
